2018 Kia Soul vs. 2017 Kia Soul

The 2018 Kia Soul is a carry-over from the successful 2017 model year Kia Soul, with the same high level of cargo room, fuel economy and performance. While there are some new additions and features that are available for the 2018 Soul that make it an improved vehicle, the 2017 Soul is an absolutely wonderful value as well. In fact, they both are, as the MSRP has stayed the same both model years.

For 2018, the Kia Soul has the UVO eServices package available for the Base trim level, with it coming standard in the Plus (+) and Exclaim (!) trims. In 2017, only the Exclaim trim came standard with the system that syncs up with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and gives you access to streaming music, and more, and the Plus trim had it optional. In 2018, the tech is more freely-available, and so are features like High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, which gives you a sharper view of the road with their bright lighting, and which is available for the Plus and Exclaim trims. In 2017, only the Exclaim trim could come with this feature.

Quality, Performance and Fun Features Can Be Yours with a Kia Soul

The 2018 Kia Soul has another interesting addition, which is the Wild Orange exterior paint color. This is another youthful and bold choice for a vehicle full with them, in both 2018 and 2017, with available colors like Mysterious Blue, Inferno Red, Shadow Black and Alien 2. Now let's look at what these two model years of the Soul crossover have in common:

  • Base MPG of 25 city, 30 highway.
  • Top MPG in Exclaim trim of 26 city, 31 highway.
  • 130 base horsepower, 161 HP in Plus trim, and 201 HP in Exclaim trim.
  • 101 cubic feet for five passengers.
  • 61.3 cubic feet for cargo with the rear seats folded.
  • Available speaker mood lights.

Those are some great specs for a vehicle that is so affordably-priced! Which makes sense, since the Kia Soul is a champion of fun-loving, value-craving drivers of all ages, and we're proud to carry this crossover model in stock at Boucher Kia of Racine, 9601 Washington Avenue in Racine WI, though we also serve the area which includes Milwaukee, West Allis and Kenosha.
