The 2017 Kia Sorento is a tech-savvy SUV with plenty of room for cargo (more than 70 cubic feet) and passengers (up to seven), and with a trophy shelf full of awards. We’re going to look at the most power-packed four trim levels of the SUV: EX V6, LX V6, SX V6 and SXL V6. Here’s what all of these trim levels have in common:

  • 290 horsepower.
  • 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway in FWD model options.
  • 154.2 cubic feet for up to seven passengers.
  • 73 cubic feet for cargo.
  • 3.3-liter V6 engine.
  • Towing power of 5,000 pounds.
  • IIHS Top Safety Pick.
  • Curb Weight of 4,101 pounds for FWD option and 4,343 pounds for AWD option.

That’s some nice features already, but if you would like to differentiate between these vehicles that are available in either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations for off-road mastery, we’ll go over features for all of the V6 trims for the 2017 Sorento.

Make the Sorento Your Spirit Animal in the Racine Milwaukee WI Area

While all V6 trims of the 2017 Kia Sorento have an equal weight and 290 horsepower, which is ample, if you would like the lowest starting price and solid fuel economy, then you’ll want to go with the LX V6 or EX V6 trim options. They average 18 mpg city, 25 mpg highway in both FWD and AWD model configurations, which is nice for vehicles that can tow 5,000 pounds and handle rugged off-road surfaces.

For an added boost in the audio and features department, head to the SX V6 and SXL V6 trim levels, where you will get a 10-speaker Infinity audio system, along with nice features like Smart Welcome, which recognizes your Smart Key and lights up the door pocket lights and unfolds the outside mirrors so you can get in and go quickly. These trim options also come with standard features like a panoramic sunroof for added bursts of soothing Vitamin D from above during a road trip, as well as larger wheels at 19 inches.

However, all trim levels of the 2017 Kia Sorento provide nice power, fuel economy and safety (recognized by an IIHS Top Safety Pick), so it’s up to you to find a price and feature package that works for you.
